Professor Luo Tao is a senior scientist of Institute of Agricultural Ecology, Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (FAAS). He graduated from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, majoring in Soil Agricultural Chemistry in 1986. Nowadays, he is a master supervisor of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, a candidate of‘ Millions of Talents Project’ in Fujian province, a member of Chinese Society of Agro-Ecological Environment Protection, as well as a Vice President of Fujian Society of Soil and Fertilizer. Professor Luo's research is in the areas of soil health, fertilizer development and agricultural environment. He has presided over or participated in more than 30 major research projects, such as National Science and Technology Support Plans of ‘Circular Agricultural Engineering and In situ passivation of heavy metal pollution in farmland, as well as other provincial or ministerial level projects. More than 40 academic papers have been published in the Chinese journals during his research career, such as Acta Ecologica Sinica, Journal of Plant Nutrition and Fertilizer, Journal of Agro-Environment Science, Transactions of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering and so on. Meanwhile, two books entitled ‘Study on the Development of Agricultural Resources and Ecological Environment in Fujian Province’ and ‘Ecology strengthen province Construction and circular Agriculture Development’ have also been published after years of research works. His works have been recognized with several awards including one item of the first prize of the China Agricultural Science and Technology Award of the Ministry of Agriculture, three items of second prize and two third prizes for Scientific and Technological Progress Award in Fujian Province, one item of third prize of Fujian Patent Award. One variety have been authorized with state level and four national invention patents have been granted.
