In this study, we focused on Tailai County, Heilongjiang Province, a typical ecologically impoverished area, to explore the coordinated livability of production-living-ecological areas in the countryside of northeast China. We examined the conflicts and structural responses within the production-living-ecological livability, predicted the evolution of these areas under different livability scenarios, and constructed a framework for spatial structure identification, evaluation, and simulation. Our results revealed that the average livability score in Tailai County was 71.25, and the spatial pattern showed a trend of high in the west and low in the east. High livability areas were clustered in the southwestern central urban region, while medium livability spaces were spread throughout the study area. Low livability spaces exhibited small clusters with large dispersion. Approximately 59.6% of the Tailai County area achieved moderately and above coordination in production-living-ecological livability, with general synergy across the region. The spatial distribution aligned closely with the overall livability, with eastern areas experiencing significantly higher conflict intensity compared with those in the west. By setting scenarios prioritizing production, ecological consideration, and livability, as well as coordinated livability across all three aspects, we observed that living space increased the most, while ecological and production spaces varied depending on the scenario. Our study underscores that high-quality production-living-ecological areas are crucial for enhancing regional livability, efficient integration, and coordination, among other elements key to developing a multifunctional and coordinated livable spatial pattern. |
