| Abstract: |
| To explore the effects of construction waste dumping on the soil bacterial community structure of agricultural land, this study investigated the environmental damage of a typical agricultural land contaminated by construction waste dumping in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong Province, China. The 16S rRNA high-throughput sequencing technology was used to study the effects of construction waste dumping on the bacterial community structure of agricultural land soil. The results showed that the number of OTUs in soil samples of the contaminated area was significantly lower than that of the non-contaminated area, indicating a decrease in soil bacterial diversity combined with an increase in contamination intensity. Construction waste dumping has resulted in composite contamination by heavy metals in the soil of agricultural land. The bacterial phyla with increased relative abundance were Pseudomonadota, Acidobacteriota, Chloroflexota and Thermodesulfobacteriota, while the phyla with decreased relative abundance were Bacillota and Bacteroidota.Redundancy analysis and correlation analysis found significant correlations between the characteristic pollution indicators such as lead, copper, and zinc and the dominant bacterial groups in both the contaminated area and the non-contaminated area. In conclusion, this study showed that microbial community structure has the potential to be applied in the identification and assessment of environmental damage, which is of scientific significance for the improvement of the technical system of environmental damage identification and assessment |
