Abstract:
As a novel biological pollutant, antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)pose a significant threat to human health by spreading and disseminating in the environment via microbial vectors. The cycling of biogenic elements is a fundamental process that sustains microbial physiological and metabolic activities, playing a crucial role in mediating the proliferation and dissemination of intracellular ARGs. Based on the existing research findings, this paper systematically reviews the regulatory effects of microbial intracellular metabolic pathways, intermediates, and key processes of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and iron on microbial community structure and ARGs proliferation and dissemination. The coupled mechanisms between microbial biogenic element cycles and the proliferation and dissemination of ARGs are explored, aiming to provide a theoretical foundation and scientific basis for elucidating the interactive relationship between microbial metabolic activities and ARG spread, deepening the research connotation of ARGs environmental behavior.
