Abstract:
As there appears to be a notable lack of research on the volatile organic compounds(VOCs)pollution of herbicides, we aimed to assess the occurrence of herbicide VOCs in the laboratory and during the agricultural process in China that have not been previously investigated. For this purpose, we discuss the estimation of VOCs emission potentials(EP)and actual emissions(AE)posed by herbicide applications in depth exploration of the actual VOCs emissions and meteorological factor response relationship of herbicides in agricultural production applications. The results showed that the EP of seven herbicide samples ranged from 6.57% to 64.37%, with a median of 14.10% and a mean of 27.80%. The average actual emission ratio(AER)for the different formulations ranged from 47.366% to 71.584%. AER value was significantly positively correlated with temperature, but significantly negatively correlated with relative humidity and atmospheric pressure. This study indicated that the formulation differences between the potential and actual emissions of VOCs existed during herbicide application, and the change responded to the driving mechanism of significant meteorological and environmental factors.
