Abstract:
To investigate the effects of biochar with wood vinegar application on saline soil improvement effect and physiological characteristics of winter wheat in the low plain area of Hebei. In this study, we set up no biochar application(CK), 15 t·hm-2 of biochar (T0), 15 t·hm-2 of biochar application+225 kg·hm-2 of wood vinegar(T1), 15 t·hm-2 of biochar+450 kg·hm-2 of wood vinegar(T2), and 15 t·hm-2 of biochar+675 kg·hm-2 of wood vinegar solution(T3). The effects of biochar with wood vinegar on quick-acting nutrients, pH, electrical conductivity(EC)value and carbon and nitrogen metabolism and antioxidant capacity of winter wheat plants were analyzed. The results showed that, compared with the treatments, T2 significantly increased the superoxide dismutase(SOD)and peroxidase(POD) activities, significantly reduced the accumulation of superoxide anion radicals, and significantly increased the soluble protein and soluble sugar contents in the pre-filling period and the free amino acid contents in the mid-filling period of winter wheat flag leaves after flowering, and T2 significantly increased the total accumulation of nitrogen(6.4% and 4.6%)and phosphorus(16.1% and 12.3%), respectively, compared with that of the CK and T0 treatments. T2 significantly increased the soil nitrate nitrogen, effective phosphorus and quick-acting potassium content compared with CK and T0 treatments, and significantly decreased the soil EC value only in the 0-20 cm soil layer, and there was no significant difference between the treatments in soil pH and organic matter 7.9%, showing significant differences. From the fitting curve, it was concluded that the amount of biochar with wood vinegar was the best yield at 433.75 kg·hm-2, which was similar to the increased amount of T2. In conclusion, in order to improve the production capacity of mild saline soil in the inland low plain of Hebei Province, it is recommended to add 15 t·hm-2 biochar to the production practice with the amount of wood vinegar in the range of 433.75~ 450 kg·hm-2.
