Abstract: |
Quinolone antibiotics(QNs)are widely used in medical care, agriculture, plantation, aquaculture, animal husbandry and so on. Because of their high adsorption coefficient(Kd)and organic carbon partition coefficient(Koc), they can exist in the environment for a long time during which migration and transformation occurs. After being discharged into the soil and water bodies later, they can affect plant growth and metabolism. This study presented an overview of the advancements in research concerning the ecotoxicological impacts of QNs on the growth and metabolic processes of terrestrial plants, aquatic macrophytes, and phytoplankton. It specifically examined the responses of these organisms to various forms of QNs stress, encompassing aspects such as growth patterns, cellular morphology, photosynthetic activity, antioxidant mechanisms, osmotic regulation, and metabolic parameters. Finally, the prospect of the further research on plant ecotoxicity mechanism of QNs have been discussed. |
